A New Way to Explore

We are pleased to announce a summer enrichment program to be hosted at the Learning Centre (6591 Somerled in NDG). From August 26th to August 30th, campers (entering Grade 4 to 6) will take part in a series of activities and projects that will foster and develop their problem-solving abilities and design skills. With activities based in art, science, engineering, technology and math, our groups will discover different and unique “beyond-the-book” ways of learning new skills and acquiring knowledge.

Every Registration includes a $75 Non-Refundable Administration Fee.

Daily Schedule

Our Learners will take part in a series of fun / engaging activities each morning, which will further inspire problem solving and creativity. In the afternoon, the program continues with a series of open-ended projects which as they explore personal interests while developing their unique skills.

Period Activity Description
8:15 – 8:30 Drop-off Learners are to be dropped off at 6591 Somerled. Our assistants will be out front to welcome participants.
8:30 – 9:15 Problem Solving in Math and Science During this time, we will dive deep into math and science as we explore different problem solving techniques and higher thinking ideas.
9:15 – 10:00 Technology as a tool Through activities in coding, videography and group discussion, children will explore various software platforms and their many possibilities.
10:00 – 10:30 Indoor Break This is a tech-free break where participants will be encouraged to take part in board games, reading and other activities with their peers.
10:30 – 11:15 Art Learners will explore diverse forms of art expression including drawing, FIMO sculpture, collage, expressionist painting and much more.
11:15 – 12:00 Creative Writing Creative writing will encourage children to explore their inner creativity and the power of storytelling through various writing challenges.
12:00 – 12:30 Lunch During the lunch period, participants will eat in the learning centre. Please pack a
12:30 – 1:00 Free Period Learners will be free to relax and enjoy the company of their friends. No devices are permitted during this time.
1:00 – 1:30 Leadership Activities Under the guidance of one of our leaders, our groups will take part in a series of activities during which they will learn various leadership concepts and skills.
1:30 – 4:00 CreatorLab At the start of a week, children will define a project they would like to complete. This project is open and can use the many different resources offered at the Learning Centre. Each day, they will work on their project individually or as part of a team with the Leader supporting them as a guide.
4:00 – 6:00 Extended Care Extended Care is provided to accommodate parents’ schedules and facilitate pickup and drop-off

  • Do I need to pack my child a lunch?


    Lunches are not provided for campers. All packed lunches must not require microwaving and must be NUT FREE.
  • Who are the Leaders?


    Explorations has engaged a team of experienced teachers to help shape and lead this new program.
